Sure, RockShox's Lyrik RCT3 Solo Air can go up, but when the trail tilts down and things get hectic, this thing comes alive. With 160-180mm of travel, this do-it-all fork boasts their fluid Charger damping that smooths out big hits and provides consistent damping from the top to the bottom of the trail. It also lets you perfectly tune your low-speed compression for techy, square-edged courses to pumpy, jump-filled trails and everything in between. For more all-mountain prowess, the Solo Air spring also reduces weight. The Lyrik utilizes RockShox's Maxle Ultimate thru-axle for supreme stiffness, surgical steering precision, and impressively low weight.
For the ultimate in trail riding characteristics and performance, RockShox’s RCT3 has open (full-travel) and lockout settings, plus a threshold mode. This is a platform setting that stiffens the initial part of the stroke, helping increase pedaling efficiency. When you hit a bump, the damper opens and allows full travel, then returns to threshold mode once the trail smooths out.
RockShox’s Charger damper features a sealed rubber bladder that expands when the fork is compressed, so oil and air stay separate, virtually eliminating any chance of foaming or bubbles in the system. What does this mean? It means the fork rides higher in the travel, in the plushest part of the stroke, preserves the bike's geometry, and recovers from hits quickly, all while maintaining incredibly consistent damping, no matter how long the downhill.
